To Rose-Marie: Why not take a pillow (a small one) if you are going to be there any length of time. I have done that, - and, as usual, caused a lot of interest. I had a General anaesthetic, and it was a couple of days before I asked DH to bring in my travel pillow. By then, I was able to sit in a chair, - and make lace - which helped recovery!!! Even the surgeon was interested, as well as having visits from Matron (or whatever they call themselves these days!!), and lots of nurses, as word quickly spread around! Made the days pass quicker, too!!
