Hi everyone

I have just finished an experiment with quilting 'wool' - it is a blend of
60% wool/40% acrylic, about the same size as Special Dentelles. The little
sample I made with it was almost entirely cloth stitch (CTC) and it was a
delight to work with. The finished appearance as it being a piece of
bobbin lace is somewhat obscured by the woolly-ness (has the slightest
halo of fuzz). I used it doubled and less bobbins, in a hurry to see how
it worked up. It would be fun to use with cottons to add subtle texture.
The thread itself seemed to stand up to the rigours of lacing - I had the
most trouble when sewing out as my hook was too small and the woollen
thread snagged easily.

Just thought I would mention it - and the fact that I've finished
one of the projects-in-progress (the butterfly from 75 Quick and
Easy patterns) - and I have a BL gift to make in a particular shade of
red, in a thickness similar to Pearl 5 - the quilting 'wool' is too fine
but the colour look promising (have decided it is to orangey, but it
looks nice with purple metallic...the project evolves-- bye for now
