Thanks for the info about the pool noodles. I'll try and see if there's a supplier locally, and if not I'll try the shop in Poole. My mother often goes up to Poole on the train to shop (from Weymouth) but she walks with a stick, so I don't think she could manage to carry a 5ft pool noodle back to the station!
