Hear, Hear!! Although I'm hoping 'cheap' was meant
only in price, not quality :)

If you don't mind doing your own hemming work, I have
had good luck with www.fabrics-store.com .  No
affiliation, satisfied customer, etc.  But as was
said, I wouldn't get cross-stitch linen unless you
really need perfectly evenly woven fabric as it is
generally much more expensive for the amount you get. 
Just my opinion - that and a dollar will get you
coffee at the corner store, but there you go :)
