in the northern hemisphere. It seems strange that street-lights get turned off
around 8:30am & the sun rises at 9am but doesn't climb over the hill near
our house until after 11am. We did get a snowfall on Sunday morning, which
has made everything all white again. Hopefully it'll stay until after Christmas.
On Sunday, our little lace group visited a working mill in the town of Hellenurme
that is about 30 km west of Tartu. They had a small display of folk costumes, some
of which had beautiful embroidery & crocheted or bobbin lace on the blouses. We
all enjoyed a simple afternoon tea before heading home again. One of our newer
members is deaf, but she is able to lip-read. We all received a small bar of chocolate
and a divider pin with a tiny glass creature attached to the top. Mine looks like a white
owl with read eyes, a black nose & black laid-back sort-of-horns (I won't call them
ears because I know that owls have ear-holes, not ears like people have).
And I'll wish everyone a Happy Christmas & a peaceful year ahead in 2005, Take care & keep making lace to make yourself happy,
