Hi All, How delightful to get to read about these two lace events this
afternoon. I also have my windows open and am listening to the birds
chirping so I could relate to Micki's note. The lace weekend sounds
wonderful! And I love Carrickmacross too. I learned from Mary Shields, who
taught at Ithaca, New York a couple years ago. It's such a beautiful lace.
I also love learning different kinds of lace because of how a different
technique is perfect for a different design. I hope that makes sense <G>.
I have a landscape idea in mind that will be perfect for CMX and no other
type of lace that I know how to make.

Sue Harvey's idea of getting CMX patterns from coloring books is great too!
Dover publishes a lot of coloring books in the US with non-cartoon
characters that would be great for that. From some of the requests we've
gotten on arachne there is great interest is some *odd* subjects for lace
pieces <G>.

And thank you, Martina, for your wonderful e-mail about the
Bavarian/Slovenian BL exhibit. You gave a great description - sounds like a
wonderful exhibit. I feel so lucky that I can sit at my computer and read
about all these wonderful events all over the world!

Jane in Vermont, USA looking forward to the New England Lace Group Retreat
in Wareham, Massachusetts next weekend!
