I was one of those with the medication problem in New Jersey. I give myself Procrit injections 3x week. Procrit is extremely expensive and has a little bulb in the vial packaging that indicates when the temp. is not right, and *must* be refrigerated. The cool-pak I use for transport is good for about 24 hours.

I had written the hotel in New Jersey, confirmed by telephone, and reconfirmed by telephone prior to leaving home. Ha! when I got there, no refrigerator and no possibility of getting one. They offered to keep it in the office refrig. I brought to the dest from my cool-pak and reminded them the package was $1400 and they would be responsible if the little bulb turned purple. I went to the desk and asked to inspect my medication frequently. Took two days, but I got a refrigerator!

I also take insulin , but contrary to what most people think, the insulin vial and pin that one uses currently *does not* need refrigeration. I even keep spares without refrigeration and have for the past 55 years.

Lets face facts - most people request a refrigerator for groceries, and that's o.k. But, think of those whose life depends on medication that must be refrigerated ...
