One of the "threads" listed on the site is very, very fine, sterling silver. Not a thread I'd indulge myself in at this point (I'm still too unskilled at wirelace to try in in something as pricey), but...
My son's girlfriend - an aerialist with a circus (whatever next! <g>) - will be going to Europe sometime this summer, and her tour includes Netherlands and Blegium. DS is planning to join her for a week or so. So, Mother has already warned him that, while in Belgium, he may have to track lace needs for Mother (as a ransom for having cut his Christmas holidays short last year <g>)... A spool (or two <g>) of silver "thread" sounds like a perfect souvenir/gift, if it's anywhere near the places she'll be performing.
