One person wrote the seller to say it's a Slovenian pillow.  I wrote to 
say it's a Maltese pillow.  Maltese pillows are usually covered in 
brown paper, not fabric, but they are stuffed with parallel reeds or 
straw and they are very long like this one.  

While the bobbins aren't traditional, the seller says there's one with 
red on it--I have several Maltese bobbins whose heads are mended with 
hard red wax (like sealing wax).
