Hi everyone and Alice in Wilmshurst

To buy retail as a 'raw' block, yes (if you can possibly find an
industry-related shop that sells it, perhaps they'd have an endcut you
could buy) - - self-healing foam/ethafoam can be found as packing, or
flotation-related equipment (usually paddle boards, and the children's
pool 'noodle' and 'plank' for example - though not this time of year).

I bought a foam drink-tin holder, the sort for insulating, though they
don't seem to work in that regard, then thinking it could be the basis
for a roller pillow of some sort, or cut apart and used flat - it
proved to be self-healing - cost, $1
Hopefully someone on your side of the pond has made a similar discovery ;)
