Anne and all,

I had the opportunity to go to Germany last year. I had asked in advance about lace and found that there isn't the lace of an American's dreams there. What I did find was that there still exists there old fashion department stores that have craft and sewing departments.

What I brought back were fabrics! The Fabrics you can find there are just fantastic, hankies with bonded edges for lace attachment and small table cloths and runners for cross stitch made to go with the books from Rico Design, These are difficult to impossible to find here and are so expensive if you do. Even the books from Rico are cheap there.

There is also lots and lots of machine made lace that is of a quality and beauty we do not see. Table runners, Christmas star center pieces, curtains, and much much more. I found stores that sold nothing but this kind of lace. I had one over loaded suit case coming home!

And most important, DON'T FORGET THE CHOCOLATE!
