Hi everyone There was a question recently about using olive oil soap to clean antique lace. I have just read a line at this textile site, where the weaver uses o.oil soap to clean a scarf. This is a 'new' item, not an old one. To me it indicates olive oil soap is in use among the textile crowd (not sure if this helps the person asking the question). Just thought I'd mention it.. For some delightful textile eye candy and two fine examples of lace-knitting/knitted lace, go here http://www.treenwaysilks.com/gallery.html The reference to the olive oil soap is at the pinwheel scarf. Usual disclaimers - but if you are interested in using silk yarns for lacemaking, check out their silk products link. I like the 120/2 and 60/2 for finer laces. The colours in the fine cords look enticing for a larger lace. -- bye for now Bev in Sooke BC (on Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada) Cdn. floral bobbins www.woodhavenbobbins.com
