HI All,
I have just re-subscribed to the Arachne mailing list after a break of about
5 years. I have not been making so much lace lately as I have been involved
with working on my family tree for the past 8 years or so. That tree has
now come to a bit of a brick wall and I have returned to my lace making.
My niece is getting married when her and her husband to be are on their trip
trekking around the world beginning this coming September. They are to
marry in Las Vegas in one of those marraige chapels. I am busy making her a
silver lave horseshoe and garter so that I can post them off to my sister
who can then give them to her daughter at the right time.
I have come to a hitch. Years ago someone gave me a pattern for a little
sprig of lily of the valley and I thought that one or two of those sprigs
wouldbe just the thing to decorate the horseshoe along with a couple of
larger flowers that I have made. I have searched this house high and low
and can't find that lily of the valley pattern. I think I must have lent it
to my friend a couple of years ago, she died last year and another lace lady
quickly swooped and took all of my friends equipment including patterns and
books, whilst my friends husband was still reeling form the shock of his
wife's death, what a vulture! I think my lily of the valley pattern must
have been amongst it all.
I have Joyce Wilmots book of flowers in lace but it does not contain any
flower tiny enough to use as a substitute to Lily of the Valley.
I wonder if anyone else has such a pattern that they could quickly send me
a scan of so that I can get on and finish my horseshoe.
I would much appreciate any help anyone can give me with this.
Thankyou.
Regards
Jenny DeAngelis
