The scans from France are finished: John is working on posting them now. See This Month on the site.<http://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/>

Thanks again to Sof and Josette for their hospitality and above all for their help with the scanning. People have asked if I enjoyed my "vacation" in France in January: what vacation? we all scanned nonstop! Most of the books are the old DMC pattern books--filet, embroidered filet, and such--and they are in French. But of course, DMC is so well illustrated that language is no problem.

Check the Professor's site for articles and books by Arthur Cole. We have been fortunate to find quite a few. Enter "Cole" into the Search box on the address above.

Diana Smith's post card of Pitsligo in the early part of the 20th century will soon be posted on the site. It certainly adds the recent postings on Arachne. Thanks, Diana.
