There had been a cottage industry of Freehand Lace near Salzburg from the 17th century. Thanks to Monika Thonhauser we now know about it. She has published 6 collections of patterns in the Salzburg bobbin lace series. Not all the laces have been made freehand, though probably more than we think today.
Only Folge 4 and 6 contains laces with Flanders Ground. While the titles are in German only the text is in German, English, French, and Dutch. The main title of each is 'Salzburger Klöppelspitzen Reihe Folge' and a number from 1 to 6. Here are the subtitels: Folge 1. 8 Breite Klöppelspitzen mit motiven aus der Salzburger Volkskunst. Tauriska Verlag Salzburg 1988. Folge 2. 16 Schmale Klöppelspitzen und Borten mit motiven aus der Salzburger Volkskunst. Tauriska Verlag Salzburg 1990.
