Just a wild guess and it is wild. Could they possibly be gears for a
roller on a roller lace pillow? The one with ridges looks like one.
Add a stopper that would catch in the ridges. It would have to lay
the other way on it's side. The other piece would go on the other end
and a dowel of some sort going between them with a roller on it. With
out seeing it and holding it, it's hard to say. They look like they
are made of bone, possibly for a "fancy showy" pillow.
