Hello Margery and all

As I was among the first-come first-served for the book sales, I was quite
happy; I'm sure it is disappointing to someone reading a lot later, who
might have liked to buy a book, but then there are those who get the
reflected (single messages) who might have missed the message, too.

I have sold my lace surplus via this list, too, and I took the approach that
I wanted the goods sold soonest. For doing raffles where I've put up lace
treasures for prizes, I wait until the respective digest has been seen by
subscribers, taking names for a while longer after that, and then do the
draw (which is free).

You could give an earliest date for submission of interest in the books for
sale, e.g. a week or two after you have sent the message, then take draw
names re those interested in a given title.

For your non-lace items, appended to a lace-related message of course (:p)
ask people to contact you privately for a list for sale/giveaway/trade
(etc.), and take it from there.

My free advice for the day :))
