Those black diamonds with question marks are Unicode replacement glyphs and they are causing me no end of grief behind the scenes. They're partially responsible for the AOL users' problems with Susan's Yahoo messages. We're trying to play with the browser encoding settings, I thought I'd solve the problem, but they seem to be back. Not sure whether we'll find a solution but we're working on it.
