Yes, it is the head and shoulder piece with the headdress where the face is looking down. When I was on the other site, I was able to magnify that piece I wanted to see the thread detail in the face. I then noticed that the edging seemed to be broken in a number of places which made me think it was old. Janice

Giovanna is an exceptional lacemaker, but this one is part of her album "The wonders of Aunt Gianfranca" <http://fioretombolo.ning.com/photo/albums/le-meraviglie-di-zia>. So I don't think it's antique, but maybe older. The pictures of damaged buildings and lacemaking in front of the blue tent are from one of the members who lost her home in the devastating earthquake in l'Aquila, near Rome, in the first week of April. There is one photo, #11, entitled Immagine da giovanna, which when I enlarged it, I wasn't sure if it was a very old piece of lace. Some of the edge stitches seem to be worn away. Can anyone tell me if this is an antique? There are even photos of buildings that look like they have earthquake damage in amongst the lace. This is a social networking site for lacemakers. You get your own page, a blog, can post photos, make "friends", exchange "comments" and so on, much like Facebook. (When I told a work colleague about it, he immediately dubbed it "Lacebook".) There is also a discussion forum. The site is in Italian, but if you click on Fotografie you can enjoy some wonderful eye candy. The Video page has teaching videos, some quite good indeed. The work in the photos ranges from traditional to modern and innovative, and has been executed by lacemakers from beginners to grand masters.> - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
