A copy of this letter is going to Lacefairy, who may be able to tell if she
took pictures of my pillow that fits in a travel case like the one
described by Mark (below).

My lace pillow that was made to fit one of these cases was made *after*
the case was purchased, so it would fit properly.

It has a roller, and a brass rack at the back which holds an upholstered
bar piece on which finished lace can be wound. The rack can be disassembled
so it fits inside closed case. There is a small white bag to put the rack
pieces in. The lace pillow, piece on which lace is wound, and pin
cushion. are Grape (purple) in color.

Made by my friend Ilona, and quite lovely.

I'd not put it in checked luggage on a plane. The case might be too
tempting for someone with slippery fingers. It does not have a lock.

Speaking of D shaped pillows and travelling cases....remember those old
50/60s small suitcases that held make up and toiletries with pockets and an
attached mirror as an overnight bag? It was almost a complete circle but
had
a flat bottom where the hinge was. They were about approximately 12
inches
tall and rounded top where the handle was and they easily set down on the
flat hinged part. My mom used to have one of these and I have seen them at
tag sales or flea markets. Could be a solution to a travel bag for the D
shaped pillows. ;)
