Hi Francis, I have taken bamboo knitting needles on transatlantic flights from the US and had no problem. You can also use them within the US but not on flights from Canada. I think you can even use metal ones in the US but as advised, better to check with your airline. I also would run a spare thread through my stitches just in case my needles got taken away.
