Hello All! Thank you for posting the parasol & the story behind it. It's a charming piece & what a tribute to a lacemaker!! Has anyone used the Mako 28 thread mentioned in a previous post?? I fell in love with the variegated colors at summer school so bought some for my stash. I've used Oliver Twist & Stef Francis but this seems finer. Any comments on how it works up?? I bought some Madeira 80 yesterday but there are only 10 colors so I may resort to overdyeing the piece after the fact. A friend who does Hardanger dyes her work because she can't find enough threads in various sizes within the same range & it really makes her work stand out in a crowd!
