I really like Highlighter Tape (or I highlight regular tape by hand). Most quilt shops and office supply stores have it in neon shades. For most I prefer 1/4" width, as it is the size of many grids in lace knitting. You can find it at Michael's Craft stores in the US in the quilting aisle, though that one is low-tack so you have to replace it a few times before you are done with a long project. It also comes in 1/2" width. I have taken to using frosted Scotch tape (cellophane tape, often called Sellotape in UK, of whom I met long ago, but I digress.) <smile> For the "homemade" version, I run a highlighter pen down the middle of the sticky side of cellophane, and can change the color, width of color, etc., as per my needs. I find the Scotch brand version in the US, will last for even 200-300 rows of a chart for a lace knitted (or knitted lace) item. It is also a savings over the cost of highlighter tape. (My bit of Scottish ancestry is perhaps showing here.) <smile> Though I have used Post Its/sticky notes, I find the "flags" they sell as bookmarks, etc., work better, and I have cut the ends to points/pointers. I have also purchased them die-cut into actual arrows, in booksellers such as Barnes and Nobel or Borders in the US, so assume they are available internationally. HTH,Susan Reishus
