i have been following this BREAKING thread also Hi Francis Thanks you for your explanation regarding the winding and S and Z. I have always thought it played an insignificant part regarding this problem but have never taken the time to do the maths. The idea that static electricity caused by the rubbing of the thread on the cover cloth can cause threads to break is also without foundation. The amounts of static electricity that can be caused by thread and cloth rubbing are very, very small and totally insignificant.
