Had a really good day at Wymondham Lace Day in Norfolk. The speaker was Eric Sutton and his wife from Acorn Bobbins U.K. he makes the most beautiful bone bobbins and his talk was how he makes them. The bone he collects personally every fortnight from the abattoir and after cutting, boiling and other processes he is lucky to get two bobbins out of one cows leg bone, believe me I was surprised in how much was involved in producing such a lovely finished item no wonder bone bobbins are expensive. (just a satisfied customer no involvement with co,)
Lots of lovely goodies to buy plus I won a book on the raffle, also purchased some very nice antique wooden bobbins which were being sold in aid of charity. Homemade cakes with tea this afternoon. Met loads of old friends and went home all talked out , a very happy puppy. Roll on next laceday.
