They are very much like the ones I have, but those on ebay look as if they've been "restored" to within an inch of their lives. I'd say they are too polished and the gilding is too bright - there's no sign of use at all.

They are fan handles (face screen handles) and will have slots - those on mine are about an inch long - and will run from the top down to the first turned bit. They'll be running across those in the photo, so won't be visible. There are remnants of the leaf on a couple of mine and they were most likely made of very thick card, probably 1 and a half to 2 millimetres thick, or wood.. The cards have obviously been bent and broken off the top of the handle. The card leaf on couple was obviously glued in and riveted on a couple of others, with 2 rivets one above the other. The leaves weren't interchangeable.
