To let you know that Erica is on the West Coast of the South Island as far as I know, and although she would have felt the jolt, there was no damage reported from over there. There are lacemakers in Christchurch, but I have no knowledge of how they have fared. Thankfully there have been no fatalities, but a couple of people have had serious injuries, and there was an increase in hospital admissions for chest pain on Saturday.
The city is severely damaged and will be years in the recovery - a lot of our heritage buildings have been destroyed. :-( Thank you for your thoughts and prayers Maxine - in the North Island - thankfully!!
