Others, from whom I've bought bobbins in the past include Stephen Pearce who made lovely ornate bone bobbins, Denis Sizeland, now retired, Winslow Bobbins being taken over by his son-in-law Steve Smith who turns very similar bobbins and Keith Crockford of Spinneyhill Lace. Keith & Barbara retired to Cyprus but Keith has recently turned a few more bobbins for the lacemakers out there. And perhaps my favourite bobbin maker, sadly no longer with us, Ernie Frid. Most lacemakers in the Kent area will have some of his bobbins but I have a couple of the very first that he made. I was still going to lace classes in the early 80s when he and Elsie joined the class. On the first evening he said something like 'I think I could make some of those' and the following week he shyly put six bobbins on the table and said 'is 25p each too much?' They weren't on the table for long!!
