I also learned from Doris Southard's book. Some 10 years ago I found her book at a Chapter's store and since I had wanted to make bobbin lace for some time and had already bought some bobbins in Holland I was thrilled to finally find a book. Doris explained it all very well and it was not difficult to follow. I am still the only one in our group (of 10) who does tc instead of ct :) Bobbin lace is a wonderful and challenging art and I'm grateful for Doris in getting me started.
