I need some suggestions from anyone willing to offer them! I bought a used bobbin lace pillow that is like a French roller pillow. It has an outer frame of wood with another inner box of wood that had a cone insert for handkerchiefs, but no roller pillow. The cone insert had it's own frame, which is removable. There is a cushion rest on top of the pillow. I would like to make a roller to go in it and I have wool, but I'm not sure how tightly the wool should be wound on the dowel. The box frame looks like it is home made, but seems to be well made.
