Hello All! The auction world is not perfect. Perhaps there is a suspicion that the "seller" is bidding up the item? If you have ever attended a "live" auction, you may know that the seller sometimes has a friend place a strategic bid, usually with the result that the bidding goes higher. Don't laugh--DOES happen! The RSN newsletter is just out & there were several interesting tidbits. Lace content--Apparently NBC is planning a forthcoming program on the Duke/Duchess of Cambridge in which there will be an interview with RSN about the making of the dress. Also some sort of program including info on royal dress designer Norman Hartnell as part of PhD research. There is a knitting & stitching show at Alexandra Palace. The current RSN exhibition features recent donations including items from the collection of Thomasina Beck & others. They are also offering "finishing & cleaning" services for heirloom christening gowns etc. One of the pictures showed the addition of the! newborn's name near the hem of the net/tulle garment. Worth a look. Sincerely, Susan Hottle, Erie, PA USA
