Has lacemaking passed from being just barely justifiable as "housekeeping" to being a pure hobby? How many people actually plan to launder their lace frequently?
When my daughter was three, I made lace to decorate her Christmas dress. It was washed more than once, but all I did was lay it flat, finger press the lace to pull out the points, and let it dry. It wasn't quite the same as before it was washed, but still looked nice.
