I recently asked if any one knew where I might find a circle of lace big enough to fit a clock face about 8 inches diameter. I had seen one on one of the website links possibly sent in by Lorelli but couldn't remember where and have never seen a book with that kind of pattern in. Jo kindly resent the link to that image but in the mean time I had been hunting my various books and eventually found one with a circle (which could take a piece of cloth, or else a second piece of lace which was also in the book). Although not as beautiful and eye appealing as the other one I saw I have prepared this pattern for work and actually began putting in bobbins last night. It has the look of a clock face so I am hoping we will enjoy it hanging on our wall for many years to come, once it is complete.

I also tried hunting down a suitable circular grid to attempt to put elements together to make an acceptable image to work from but I couldn't work out if the ones I have from the lace guild would have enough dots in to make an effective pattern. I expect there is a formular but it all escapes me, sadly. My computer skills have prevented me from working out how to change a straight edge to a circular or oval one using the lace design program so I have still not managed to find a pattern small enough for my candleholders. One of these days, maybe, :-)
