Dear Janis in South Africa,

There was a Margaretenspitzen article, with instructions, written by Maji
Suhm - in the American magazine "PieceWork", May/June 2012 issue. Marji is
a recent past Vice President of OIDFA and a past President of The
International Old Lacers, Inc. in the U.S. She is in the process of bringing
Margaretenspitzen history and instructions to English-speaking lacemakers.

In connection with this, I brought copies of "PieceWork" to OIDFA Caen, to
give as gifts to people from different parts of the world. They went to
lacemakers in England, Scotland, Germany, and South Africa! My friend in
South Africa may see your letter on Arachne, and may contact you off this
Arachne list.

Everyone: When you travel, think of ways you can share lace information
with other continents. This is important to the survival of unique laces.
The lacemakers in Eastern Europe would tell you how difficult it has been
to reconstruct their traditional laces after 2 destructive World Wars and
occupation by a nation that was unsympathetic to their history.
