Hi Arachnids,

Have just ordered a new hard copy of The Ruins of Lace from an USA dealer, through Amazon. It was cheaper than a Kindle copy. It cost £7.29 including the postage, the Kindle version is £8.54. Looking forward to reading it. As it has to come from the USA I have time enough to finish the book I'm reading at present and another. ;-)

If there is any lacemaker in the Hastings/Bexhill/Eastbourne (UK) area who would like to read the Monica Ferris books; I have the books she has written so far -at least 13- "who done its" written around a needlecraft shop.
Contact me to collect free. First to contact me gets all.

Happy lace making,

Joepie

Has anyone seen or heard of this book?

The Ruins of Lace by Iris Anthony
The chapters are rather short and each is written from various
character's point of view...including the lace smuggling dog.
The stories
intertwine subtly during the peak of French history when sumptuary laws were
enforced. Much of the intrigue of lace is included- orphans, convents,
workshops, sales, smuggling and of course a little romance.
