Hello, gentle spiders,

In my central part of Virginia, we have dodged the bullet. I suppose that the
Derecho of June was enough penance for our region, for which we are grateful.

The tidewater region of our state had some flooding, while the mountains
experienced snowfall, but in each case, the degrees were moderate.

However, for no apparent reason, our cable TV service began to sputter during
the local news tonight, and by the time the National news came on, it was gone.
Call me a happy camper! I only tolerate the news each night, and am happy for
my DH's subsequent choice of viewing to be the background sound for knitting or
reading or emailing!

I have no idea why we don't have TV, but it is definitely not a crisis, even if
it is related to Storm Sandy. So, obviously, my major concern is for my many
friends in New Jersey and New York.

Clay
