Karen, Yarn bombing is when people decorate fixed (or not) objects in public with knitted or crocheted cozies. Sometimes they just even wrap yarn around objects like lamp posts, railings, parking meters, trees, bike racks, statues, etc. If you do a google search for yarn bombing you will see lots of images.
