Does anyone know what those threads compare to in thickness (wraps/cm)? I found two 25 g spools of Retor d'Alsace cotton - no. 40 and 60 on eBay. I guess it's comparable to Broder Machine 40 and 60 which are given in Brenda's book as having 36 and 46 wraps/cm. The intended use is as couching and/or filling thread for Carrickmacross lace or Brussels needle lace - will that work?
