If you arrange with the hotel, they will hold packages for you.  I used to
travel quite a lot and i just shipped stuffs ahead that i could not fit on
carry-on.  I did this before 9/11 so i don't know why it would not work
now.  even your pillow can go on ahead.  just a thought.
