Making lace in public can take place in libraries, malls, parks, or anywhere a table and chair can be set up comfortably for the lace maker. I'm not sure scheduling a specific day is as important as the fact we want to share the experience and make others aware of the art of making lace. I thought the point was to get as many people making lace in public near or around the same time as possible to "spread the word worldwide." It wouldn't matter which day was chosen, it wouldn't be suitable for everyone. All it takes is one or more people getting out and doing it. It's kind of like yarn bombing. It gets attention.
