You may have noticed lace in some of the movies you have watched over the years. We could start a list of movies to watch that feature lace and there may be a list already in Arachne. One title that comes to mind is Shakespeare in Love. Other movies also show lace in costumes.
I had not seen bobbin lace actually being made in a movie until I saw Demi Moore making bobbin lace on a bolster/pillow in The Scarlet Letter, 1995. There are some photos (36) from the film on IMDB, an insert lace is shown, some narrow edgings and a collar, etc. The exciting part was watching as she worked on lace (which was frowned upon). The film itself did not rate well; the lacemaking is near the beginning.
