I suppose that because the Congress in Turku, Finland 1996, was the first OIDFA Congress I attended, it has always remained fresh in my mind, a happy experience to say the least. Added to that is the fact that one of the teachers at the Rauma workshop has been my Christmas correspondent over all these years. She was the translator for the teacher, a great help to us all, and I remember with gratitude all that they taught us.
I have all my prickings and class examples along with my notes and finished pieces. I also have the complete folder of patterns collected from lacemakers from everywhere, always included by OIDFA for attenders. I have been to almost every OIDFA Congress since then, but Turku and Rauma still will always remain my favorite. Tess (in Maine, USA, where I found my first crocus yesterday.
