The Fashion Museum in Bath has sent out a publicity notice of a class this coming weekend. This might be a subject for discussion on Arachne, or for a newsletter article (if an expert is too shy to share directly with Arachne). Here are the details - re-typed because of our limitations with photos and special type faces: "Weaving lace effects workshop - Learn how to create different woven lace techniques using a rigid heddle backstrap loom and finger control with Penny Wheeler. Taking inspiration from Lace in Fashion (the exhibit) you will come away with beautiful samples of woven lace. The workshop is suitable for those new to weaving or with some experience." What would be nice to know is if one of our Arachne members can recommend books about this subject and tell us a little about it? Also, refer us to a web site that is illustrated? We have got to pump some new energy into Arachne, or it will fade away. Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center
