To Jeri’s question, the book is Rosaline Perle 2 by Judith Cordell, ISBN 978-0-9570698-1-7. Holly didn’t have her first volume on Rosaline in stock but was planning to reorder. Hope this helps.
Thank you Lorelei! I knew about the rib & roll technique to carry threads in Honiton. Although I’ve seen a demonstration of the technique, I have not tried it myself. I also have not yet taken a class in Withof, Duchesse or Cantu so the rolled bundle start described in Rosaline is a new wrinkle. Thank you for the yummy photo links! The bundles add dimension & definition to the motifs. BTW, I checked out your ning resources earlier today—more great photos & the book list. The IOLI library has two of the books that were recommended so they will be on my winter reading list. Many thanks. Bev, I too have started samples or fringed items with bundles. It just never occurred to me that it was a technique for starting a fine piece of lace. Live & learn with lace!
