I just posted some photos on ning. http://laceioli.ning.com/group/identification-history This is a piece of what originally appeared to be mezzo punto. But I think it is entirely bobbin lace. Perhaps, really, Milanese is the proper identification. An interesting technique that at first looks to be needle lace, is I think, accomplished with twists and sewings in bobbin lace. I have never seen this before. Has anyone else ever seen it? Devon
