For now just celebrating being alive and having the mobile phone contacts
with family and computer contact with friends and family around the world.
I joined 10 years after the beginning, so a relative newbie, I have had some
excellent help from Arachnids around the world, so thank you to one and all.
My last piece of lace was complete in time for Christmas and I have been
relearning the skills and patience needed working on an embroidery table
cloth. Initially because I wanted to have another go after 40 ish years.
My DH asked who it was for (because my work is normally a gift for someone),
I told him, no one and I may never complete it but I am now 3/4 of the way
round with the last bit to do working a little every evening. I have also
been playing nicely trying out quilt making or patchwork. I always loved
the American quilts made by so many clever women in very hard times and
never thought I had the patience but that is something lacemaking teaches I
feel.
I have made 3 blocks, completing each one as a single tablemat, a pair for
local friends which they and their cats love, and a single one which is
waiting to be posted to my younger brother.
I had started working a piece of bobbin lace dragonfly, before I worked 3
strips for gifts at Christmas, so now it needs to be picked up again and
worked to completion so I can sew on one of my tops to wear. Looking
forward to seeing that finished. For 12 years I worked only bobbin lace,
then I learned to make needle tatting (tatting being something I had wanted
to see made and learn to work) and with the aid of good friends and you tube
videos. So we are able to bring old crafts back into use, or learn from
scratch, which is a huge help in the current situation as we have been
confined to our home for the next 12 weeks.
So I wish you all joy of your crafts, hope you are well and onward into the
next 25 years.

Doesn't time go fast when you're making lace?! Happy Anniversary (from one
who's been an Arachne from about 3 months after it started).
Happy Easter (or whatever else you may be celebrating this weekend) to
everyone, too.
