Thanks, Nancy--I'm now capturing what I can from the Internet Archive.  So far, I haven't found any pages or other content missing, but I have a ways to go.  Her main page there also gave me the name of her (previous) hosting company, and I've reached out to them to see whether they can give us access to her content.

Deborah--you are correct that GoDaddy is the domain registrar now, but her site is no longer hosted at that domain, obviously.  I will keep trying to find contact information for her family.

I found her Pinterest in my browser history: https://www.pinterest.com/lynxlacelady/
Lots of pages there, as well.

A little bit of research and I found that the Lynxlace.com domain registration
was renewed on November 11, 2022. The registrar is GoDaddy, on name servers
ns1.parklogic.com and ns2.parklogic.com I'm not totally clear on this, but
the domain name expired September 30. Possibly GoDaddy bought the name on
spec, or perhaps her family used GoDaddy to reregister the domain quickly. It
doesn't put us any closer to finding her next of kin for accessing her data
for preservation. fyi, the internet archive does not crawl every page, so
those files may be incomplete.

The “Lorelei Lynxlady” on Pinterest did not produce anything that looked
like lace related materials.

Lorelei once told me that the person hosting her site was a friend of
hers who was giving her the hosting at very low cost (or maybe free). I
think he also maintained the site. I tried getting his name/info from a
WHOIS search, but it appears that he has sold the domain to a reseller.
I don't have contact info for Lorelei's family. If there is a way to
get the content files from either the original host or her family, I
would be happy to host it on laceioli.org. That should be a simple
matter of uploading the files. I even thought of capturing her site
after she passed away, but again, I was dealing with connectivity issues
at the time.

Do any of you have contact with her family? That might be the best
way. In the mean time, I'll see what I can collect from the Internet
Archive and her Pinterest.

Yes, I feel stupid. I realized immediately after sending that that the
domain name is irrelevant. The content can be hosted anywhere -- it's
retrieving the content and finding somewhere to host it that needs to
be done. The hosting company would be on a subscription basis, so we
need to move before that expires or lapses.

So is anyone in touch with either Lorelei's brother or sister?

I don't have such a subscription myself but I'm willing to take over
the lynxlady subscription as an emergency measure, until a long term
solution is worked out.

Or do something else to help. Sarah -- let me know!

Purchasing the domain name would only give you rights to the name.
