I have watched this Work-in-progress, for the last 20 years, and it is
absolutely beautiful.
Annette is doing a wonderful job, and the veil will be awesome when all the
pieces are mounted.
She temporarily mounted some pieces on some netting last year, to give us an
idea of what it would look like, and it was breath-taking.
Annette is 'The' expert on Honiton over here, and her work is superb.
If, as Tamara says, the silk net has an inbuilt stiffness, then that would
enhance the softer cotton lace, I would think, as it will sit better when
mounted.
And surely, - silk lasts through the ages, doesn't it?
