Lots of laces are worked to a grid. All of the point ground family -
Bucks, Lille, etc, also the Flemish yardage laces, Mechlin,
Valenciennes, Flanders etc are grid laces, and also Maltese and
Beds-Maltese and to a lesser extent floral Bedfordshire needs a grid to
get regular pattern repeats.
