That's right Antje. It is usually used for curved lines and on  the side
where the curve is larger, you use the straight edge stitch (i.e.  put pin
inside the second pair, leave the end pair and work back with the  inside
pair). On the other side, no pin but a whole stitch and a half  stitch and
turn - that is on the side where the curve is tighter.
If the  line is wavy, you have to vary the sides accordingly. Next week I
will be  taking a proper course in Cantu lace and should know how to work it
neater  and better.
